We just celebrated Halloween, and I was going to be an elf. I was excited about wearing it to wear my costume to work. I ordered the costume online, and it looked as good as in the picture. Unfortunately, the size wasn’t right. It said medium, but it fit like an extra-large.
I had to go with Plan B. I dressed in my regular clothes, grabbed my little stuffed wolf, and used a name tag to identify myself as Amber Cahill, the main character from my book.
I still wish I could have worn my costume, but I got some advertising whenever someone would ask me who Amber Cahill was.
The journey to getting my book published is similar. The monetary needs for editing and publishing are far more than I make in a month, and I have a family to support. So, I am taking an alternative route and will soon begin a crowdfunding campaign. I hope you all join me as I learn how to get this going.
Having my book published is one of my biggest dreams. I have never done anything like this before, and I have already learned so much. Marketing has always made me feel a little anxious. I think that’s because I wasn’t ready. Since I launched my website and began researching different crowdfunding sites, I have felt more at ease. I am ready for this part of my journey. I hope my campaign will do well; if anything, I will raise enough money to pay for editing.
If you want to help me with my campaign, stay updated with my mailing list. I will be posting updates as well as how close I am to reaching my goals.
I am so thankful to everyone who is joining me on this journey. You are special.
Remember, just because something doesn’t go the way we want it to doesn’t make it bad. I couldn’t wear my costume, but I was able to advertise my book. When something doesn’t fit right or makes us uncomfortable, it could mean we still have some growing to do.
Until next time, my friends.
