Limbo......that’s kind of a funny word. It has a few different meanings: a state of nothingness, uncertainty or unresolved status, suspended activity, and the list goes on and on.

In Amber’s Awakening, the characters are in a state of limbo of their own making. They could easily get out of their predicament. But other emotional factors keep them in that state of limbo. Then again, if they didn’t, it would make for a very short story. There are aspects of the characters we would miss. There are events that need to take place and wouldn’t otherwise.

I guess you could say that Limbo is like a pause. It allows for the characters to grow and discover things at a pace they need to. I don’t want to go into too much since the book hasn’t been released yet. If I spoil too much, then there wouldn’t be any point in reading it. Where’s the fun in that?

There is also a game called Limbo, in which you must try to walk under a stick as it gets lower and lower. Once it gets too low, you have to bend over backward to go under it.

For the characters of the book, life in their state of limbo becomes so bad that our heroine figuratively has to bend over backward to fulfill her responsibility.

Have I provided enough of a teaser for you?

What kind of limbos have you experienced in your life? Were they of your own making? Or was it out of your control? I feel as though I am in both types of limbo while another part of me has to take control so I can enjoy Christmas with my family.

Limbo isn’t bad. Even though it’s frustrating, it’s also a good time to reflect. If we don’t pause, we lose out on what we could miss. It’s a good time to prepare for what is to come.

I often feel impulsive, so these feelings of Limbo drive me crazy. However, if I give in to my impulsive side, I miss out.

I have a fundraising campaign coming up, and I could easily start it now, but then I wouldn’t be as prepared as I would be by pausing to look at what I have to offer. Then, after looking at what I have to offer, I can take the time to research what I need to do to make that a reality.

I have been enjoying Canva a lot and have created a few different book covers. I don’t plan to use them, and I just have fun making them and seeing the possibility of what my book cover would look like. This limbo allows me to get ideas of what I want to give to the artists who would be designing the book cover. I have so many ideas, and If I gave in to my impulses, I wouldn’t be producing the kind of product I want.

In short, limbo is frustrating, and it drives us crazy. It also allows us to stop and think. I hope you enjoyed this post. Until Next time, my friends.
